My client is looking for a Cargo Agent (Traffic) to join a busy Heathrow/Hatton Cross team. The Cargo Agent will support the cargo traffic staff whilst providing excellent customer service at all times. This is a 2–year fixed–term contract role with the possibility of going permanent after this period. The role will require working on a roster basis with a combination of early and late shifts. Hours of business are (but not fixed) from . Shifts will include working some weekends and bank holidays. A criminal record check will be required for this position.
Main duties:
Handling import's documents, cargo spot data processing, checking acceptance of documents and freight for dangerous goodsDealing with agent enquiries, following processes for damaged cargo, dangerous goods acceptance Communicating efficiently with customers and employeesLearning the key processes of Import Cargo management including Flight arrival handling and document distributionWorking with the company's in house IT systems to ensure smooth handling and give quick responsive actionCommunication between shifts for flight handover Requirements:
Previous cargo experience (ideally as a Cargo Agent or similar) within the airport Computer literate (MS Office, CRM and cargo handling systems)Excellent communication skills both written and verbalAble to work under pressureFlexible to work on shifts, anything between 5am – 9pm Salary, Benefits & Further Details:
