THE MIDGIE – DAF T244 Overland / Expedition Vehicle – Ultimate Off-Grid Camper or Air B&B

The Midgie is ready to take you anywhere… Using a base of an ex- British Military Leyland DAF T244 with an insulated isolation shelter box, we have converted her into an off-grid, go everywhere overland vehicle for 4 people that could even be used as an Airbnb, full-time off grid accommodation or the ultimate bug out vehicle in these uncertain times.

With no ECU and simple mechanics, The DAF T244 offers real advantages over newer more expensive base vehicles i.e. It can be fixed anywhere, in any country…

The Midgie has…

• 5. 9ltr Cummins diesel engine, basic reliable drive train and a simple air brake system - that’s it – very little to break or go wrong as you adventure round the world.

• Permanent 4x4, Centre-diff-lock, transfer case (low/ hi range gearbox), Manual 5 speed

• Standard 12. 00R20 wheels with tubed tyres. Also comes with an unused spare chassis mounted wheel.

• 3 cab seats and comes with an additional 2 flip down seats with integral harnessed

• MOT till April-24

Inside her British Army Green exterior and already registered as a Class 4 motorhome, she has…

• 4 adult sized beds – 2 bunk pods plus a pull out full sized double.

Whilst The Midgie is fully ready to go, we deliberately designed it with flexibility to allow you the opportunity to make it your own if you wished – adding for example a mini wood burner, or outside shower – the choices are endless and depend on where your adventures will take you.
