Television cabinet, bespoke made by Shaws of London (Furniture) in Deptford, Sunderland in 1994. Very expensive then, think I paid close to £1000! Veneered with distressed mahogany, the cabinet top is in excellent condition. The lower parts of the cabinet has scratch marks from previous pets, but isn't too bad. It was specially made to fit exactly into one of my alcove. Selling as no longer needed and the alcove has been altered.
The top half features doors that open and then slide into the sides to give an uncluttered look, open back at the top and an opening to the closed-back bottom shelf for cables. It also has a platform for the television that slides forwards and swivels left or right - see pictures.
The bottom has an adjustable shelf area for electronics and two drawers on the side - the top drawer is slightly shorter than the bottom but will still accomodate Blu-rays and DVDs - see pictures.
The whole cabinet is extremely well made and very heavy. The extending and swiveling platform can be removed if not needed. I'm not sure if the cabinet can be further disassembled into a top and bottom half. When collecting, please keep in mind the size and the weight.
