As the Manager of the Manufacturing Engineering Paint team, you will play a crucial role in formulating and implementing the manufacturing paint strategy necessary for the seamless integration of new product content into Gaydon's manufacturing domain. Your leadership will be instrumental in steering the Advanced and Current Manufacturing Engineering team to execute projects efficiently, collaborate closely with cross-functional units, and ensure project completion within set parameters. Your primary focus will revolve around Paint Materials and Paint Process application development/release with a substantial emphasis on day-to-day CME activities.
Responsibilities
Manage all activities to develop the AME/CME Paint SVO team, ensuring every employee has access to the Learning and Development, Motivation, and Communication required to deliver the Business Plan objectives.Supervise the Gaydon manufacturing engineering paint team, ensuring detailed process operation sheets are produced and maintaining stringent quality standards.Use PFMEA and SPC techniques to establish and manage a control plan for critical processes, facilities, and equipment essential for effective paint application.Collaborate with Facilities and Production, driving efficient station layouts, evaluating modifications in existing facilities, and liaising with external equipment suppliers for seamless implementation.Identify and mitigate waste in the paint process, enhance productivity, and ensure compliance with safety standards.Lead the release of new colors, evaluate next-generation coatings with paint suppliers, and support new coating materials' engineering needs. Qualifications & Skills
The ideal candidate should bring substantial prior experience in Paint Facility Process Management, consistently achieving business targets. Proficiency in problem-solving, effective team engagement, and adept project management skills within a dynamic environment are essential. A comprehensive understanding of Automotive Paint Operations, Engineering/Manufacturing Processes, and Tools is crucial. Moreover, you should excel in managing tight deadlines, juggling multiple activities simultaneously, and delivering concise presentations.
