Technical Instructor in Wood

They are looking for an experienced, adaptable, dynamic and highly motivated person to work with their wood technical team at the College. This team supports a wide variety of programmes with woodworking activities across the College. They have a new wood workshop in their Battersea South building that includes a wide variety of technical facilities and processes.
The day job as a Technical Instructor in Wood:
Provide technical support, advice and demonstrations in the specialist wood workshops.Support the growth of wood based making areas that allow students to explore and develop work within the experimental stages of their research. Continual learning as part of a dynamic team.Assist students and staff in problem solving and finding technical solutions.Maintain specialist equipment and applicable health and safety accurate records. Support College Teaching, Learning, Research activity as appropriate for the role.
What you will need to have:
Knowledge and experience of a variety of processes for working with wood.Experience of delivering in person technical instruction.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in a dynamic, fast paced environment.The ability to use initiative and work as part of a team.Excellent organisational, time management, planning and problem solving skills.Excellent user focus and a flexible approach.Experience creating or delivering learning material is essential.Knowledge of Health and Safety issues and Risk Assessment procedures.
