Are you ready for a challenging opportunity that will shape the future of sea warfare? We are currently seeking an experienced Technical Illustrator to contribute to a cutting-edge Electronic Warfare (EW) equipment programme used by the Royal Navy.
Role Overview: As a Technical Illustrator, you'll play a crucial role in developing technical publications for EW equipment, ensuring compliance with the international specification for Technical Publications, ASD-S1000D Issue 4.1. This hybrid role includes occasional travel to Bristol/Devonport and provides the chance to work on both the Hurracan and MEWSIC projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Originate graphics compliant with S1000D, with an interest in developing skills in 3D multimedia.Utilize leading graphic/multimedia software, with training provided to harness the full software capability.Support Technical Authors in researching and analyzing complex technical information for high-quality technical documentation.Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and confidently engage with both internal and external customers.Contribute to the ever-evolving capability of the Tech Pubs team. Requirements:
Experience with S1000D Issue 4.1 (Mandated) and S2000M (Desirable).Proficiency in isometric/2D illustrations (Mandated) and 3D animation skills (Desirable).Familiarity with CSDB/IETP Management using the EAGLE Toolset (Desirable).Knowledge of Adobe Acrobat Professional (Desirable) and 3D CAD (Mandated).Accredited technical graphics qualification with experience in CAD; qualifications in Technical Communication or ISTC membership are desirable.Familiarity with desktop publishing tools, digital imaging software, and spreadsheets.Excellent communication skills at all levels.
