Position Overview:
They are looking for a Technical Author to join the team and play a crucial role in creating accurate and comprehensive technical documentation for their diverse range of defence projects. As a Technical Author, you will collaborate with engineers, subject matter experts, and other stakeholders to produce clear and concise documentation that meets the highest standards of quality and precision.
What you will be doing:
Identifying source document from document management systemsCarrying out Impact Assessments against the engineering source data to create a Data Module Requirement Lists (DMRL)Create Technical Description and Operating Information Data Modules (DM) in xml (mark-up language) to an ASD S1000D 4.1 specificationAuthoring and managing DMs in the EAGLE Publishing System (EPS) Common Source Database (CSDB) using the EPS xml Editor softwareProducing graphic mark-ups to produce illustrations to support DMsQuality checking DM outputs to ensure compliance with the project and industry specificationsLiaising with Senior and Principal Engineers to resolve technical/formatting issues
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
HNC/HND or equivalent experience within relevant engineering disciplinePossess excellent attention to detailExperience of handling documents and proficient in the discipline of configuration controlKnowledge and understanding of an IETP/IETMKnowledge and understanding of ASD S1000D
Desirable:
Previous experience in a technical documentation rolePrevious experience within a support engineering disciplineKnowledge and understanding of a Common Source Database (data vault)
