Technical Architect required by market leading, financial services organisation based in North Bristol. The successful application will work remotely with 1 day per week onsite with flexibility.

The successful Technical Architect will have a proven track record as a Senior Developer / Technical Architect or within a hands-on management role, leading projects from requirements through to delivery. Our client needs someone who can demonstrate a broad awareness of the technology landscape and who has researched and used different technologies to solve problems.

Main Responsibilities:

Largely be focused around analysis, architectural design and web framework implementation Design, develop and maintain complex web applications based on the Kafka streaming platform Build reusable code and libraries for future use Provide ongoing maintenance, support and enhancements in existing systems and platforms Provide recommendations for continuous improvements Collaborate cross-functionally with data scientist, business users, project managers and other engineers to achieve elegant solutions Writing and testing code to develop scalable and robust solutions, which meet the high performance and availability standards of global financial institutions Discussing client's requirements and proposed solutions with a senior developer to fully understand and translate business requirements Collaborating with other developers and other departments Investigation of problems and determining the best solution Create technical documentation for reference and reporting Build credibility with team members and support junior team members by providing feedback Required Background:

Previous experience gained within a Technical Architect role Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and be able to communicate effectively with technical teams Coaching/mentoring the existing teams in best practices in design and implementation. Java (SE + EE) Angular Git, Maven, Jenkins Pipelines Spring Framework and Spring Boot Microservices Apache Kafka Event Streaming Platform Experience with Hibernate and JPA, REST, Swagger/OpenAPI Kafka Streams, NoSQL Databases e.g. ElasticSearch, MongoDB Traditional RDBMS Automated Unit and System level tests using frameworks such as JUnit, Cucumber, Playwright etc. Ability to learn new technologies quickly Thinking ahead and incorporating technologies that deliver better software Desirables:

BSc (Honours) Computer Science or a similar degree with significant computing bias.
