About us
The City Adult Social Care is based Oxford , covering Oxford City Council boundaries, for people aged 18 years and above.
The team comprises of Practice Supervisors, Occupational Therapists, Social Workers and Coordinators. It is a team of dedicated and passionate workers who work closely together and support each other.
We have patch working and utilise our strong links with the Community and other partner organisations.
The office is within the ring road, with free parking on site and close to the office. Parking permits are available for when workers go out on visits.
About you
We are looking for someone with strong leadership skills to deliver the Oxfordshire Way to the people of the City of Oxford. We invite people who are creative, inclusive and have passion to do things differently, resulting in delivering a timely, good quality, high performing service.
You will encourage and support best practice within the team, including valuing and developing staff skills in Social Work and Occupational Therapy; and work within legislative frameworks including the Care Act and Mental Capacity Act, and work within safeguarding policies and procedures to manage risk.
You will need to be a positive role model, who is both solution and strength based, and have experience of working with a range of people including those with complex and challenging situations. You will need to demonstrate knowledge and experience of working with housing, health, legal and court work.
Good communication skills are essential both verbal and written, and you will need to actively measure and report the performance of the team including contributing towards service development and the development of staff to reach their full potential and aspirations.
The Team Manager needs to promote well-being for the staff in the team and work to Oxfordshire County Council's Values.
You will need to be available in the office for some parts of the week to support the team, and able to manage competing priorities with flexibility.
