For sale is our 1993 Talbot Express pop-top campervan.
It's been brilliant but we're now looking at travelling abroad and unfortunately can't afford both. The van failed it's last MOT on some welding points but drives/starts great and is in very good condition internally.
The van is currently SORN with no MOT as it needs some welding. You can check the previous MOT via the reg number but the welding points are as follows:
- Large patch of the passenger side sill.
- Small section of the driver side sill.
- Small hole (1inch?) in each front wheel arch.
- Small hole behind each corner of the rear bumper.
If you're a welder or know a welder then this van will be a bargain. The actual underside of the van is in very good condition and has never needed welding. It's just the sills/rear bumper/wheel arches where little problems have cropped up.
The previous owner took it round the alps(!) so there are some (big) knocks and dings to the exterior.
The good:
- Drives well and starts without issue.
- Brand new exhaust, coolant pipe, fuel pump, battery and water pump.
- Very nice condition interior with original table, lights etc.
- Working gas hob with 2x gas bottles. (1 is still half filled)
- Working fridge on electric (we never tried the gas!)
- Working sink, tap and water pump.
- Large isolated leisure battery.
So this isn't a rolling project, it just needs the welding done. Sadly by the time we do that, tax it, MOT it again we won't be able to go abroad.
This is a genuine, reluctant sale. You are welcome to view the van and take it for a test drive (around the private lock-up it's in!) and I can show you all the interior functioning as well.
