We are currently looking for a Sustainability Project Manager to join our growing Sustainability team. Purpose The 80-person Sustainability team at Ricardo Energy & Environment has been in place for over 10 years helping clients to understand, and then reduce, their environmental and social impacts. With sustainability and Net Zero increasingly becoming part of day-to-day business, our strength in being an early trail-blazer for Net Zero strategies and working at the leading edge of decarbonisation technology development, means demand for our skills is higher than ever. You will be a key part of the project management team within the Sustainability business area, a collaborative peer group of 10 experienced Project Managers who bring high quality, robust and insightful leadership to projects for new and existing clients. The team also provide mentorship of junior colleagues seeking to increase their experience of project management in a consultancy setting. We are looking for a candidate with knowledge and appreciation of sustainability alongside project management experience. We also welcome applications from experienced project managers with over 6+ years of experience managing consultancy projects in other sectors with the right multidisciplinary skills. Key competencies and experience 6+ years of experience in project management, ideally within consultancy and/or the environmental sector. Outstanding, planning, organisation, delegation and communication skills to be tested through the interview process. Strong leadership skills, and the ability to form and maintain focused project teams within a matrix resourcing structure. A track record of delivering projects to time and budget and clear examples of problem solving and resolving challenges along the way. Experience of managing senior external stakeholders and large project teams. Desirable Skills A project management qualification e.g. PRINCE 2, APM. Experience within the consultancy sector, either in environmental consultancy or similar. Experience of ESG, sustainability, energy & carbon management, low carbon technologies, LCA or similar. Experience of working with one or more of our key client sectors: Airports, Automotive, Manufacturing, Food & Drink, Public Sector Estates. Skills and Behaviours Be a team player able to work with and influence a wide range of stakeholders both inside and outside of the organisation. Be comfortable working on a variety of tasks and different projects in a fast-paced consultancy environment, with high levels of attention to detail. Develop sufficient knowledge of the project processes within our consultancy business to be able to propose and implement operational improvements in these areas. Be a leader, team worker who is willing and able to get involved in supporting colleagues on a range of project management and co-ordination tasks as required.
