Your new company is involved with conceptual and detailed design across the range of city master planning with existing schemes across Health, Education, Commercial, Historic, Residential, Leisure amongst others.As part of the larger organisation, the Sustainability Group provides a wide range of services across building design to both internal and external clients. Support the Head of Sustainability in developing, expanding and delivering your new company's sustainability offering in the North, with a focus on net–zero carbon, circular economy, embodied carbon and decarbonisation strategiesDeliver external presentations for business development and to raise the profile of the practiceProject leadership and mentorship of junior team membersSupport the delivery of high–quality design focused outputs across a range of sectors, fostering connections between disciplinesProduce technical guidance and analysis to influence sustainability strategies (including leading workshops to help clients define their strategic sustainability brief)Deliver, report and evaluate project sustainability targetsSpeak at industry events championing BDP as a sustainable practiceRepresent industry working groups and positively engage with industry institutes to promote and share knowledgeAssist in bid writing and attending project interviewsAssist in project forecasting and budget managementIdentify research and development opportunities to enable your new company to stay at the forefront of the sustainability agenda The role will report directly to the Head of Sustainability and support them in the following additional activities:
Development and implementation of sustainability policies and strategyESG reporting, including performance against Science–Based TargetsManaging and maintaining our ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 certificationDevelopment of communications plan for the practice, producing up–to–date marketing materials for our sustainability activities and coordinating internal and external messaging to ensure the sustainability agenda is communicated effectively What you'll need to succeed
A formal qualification in a sustainability/environmental management/built environment subject with UK experience Relevant experience working in the field of sustainability, with specific experience of sustainability design consultancyThe ability to take responsibility for leading and delivering projects, coordinating and managing input from more junior members of the teamDemonstrable evidence of developing sustainable design strategies in a built environment contextExperience in financial management, including forecasting and resourcingExperience in work winning and business developmentThe drive to build capacity and expertise within the team and wider practiceConfidence in preparing and delivering presentations to a wide range of internal and external stakeholdersChartership with a relevant industry bodyExemplary written and spoken English, with experience of technical report writing What you'll get in returnIn return, you will receive a highly competitive salary and the opportunity to work with a world–class employer with a secure pipeline of work.
