Supported Housing and Temporary Accommodation Team Leader
Location: Brent
Contract: 3-month contract
Hours: 36 hours per week (2 days in the office from January 24th, 3 days per week in the office from April 1st)

This is an exciting opportunity to lead a team of 14 staff/managers in a 3-month contract role based in Brent.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Management: Lead the day-to-day operations of the Commissioning, Contracting, and Market Management Team, focusing on Supported Housing and Temporary Accommodation.Strategic Development: Develop, shape, and deliver the overarching work program for the thematic industry area in collaboration with key stakeholders, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities.Data-Driven Approach: Implement a creative, data, and information-led approach to commissioning arrangements, emphasizing self-care, independence, empowerment, enablement, and integration.Leadership: Take operational and strategic leadership on all commissioning, contracting, and market management activities, ensuring collaboration with key stakeholders and adherence to budget constraints.Team Management: Directly manage a team of Market Management and Supplier Relationship Managers, overseeing portfolios of work and ensuring effective delivery.Budget Oversight: Monitor allocated budgets, identify potential risks of overspend or underutilization, and recommend mitigation measures.
Principal Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
High-Performance Leadership: Lead and manage staff to achieve high performance and effective operational delivery, fostering continuous improvement.Customer-Focused Service: Manage a customer-focused service, ensuring effective resource utilization and alignment with the council's vision, values, and ethos.Stakeholder Engagement: Act as an ambassador and advocate with external organizations, building effective working relationships.Thematic Industry Portfolio: Take responsibility for one of three thematic industry portfolios, ensuring end-to-end commissioning and contracting cycles.Collaboration: Work closely with other Team Managers to ensure coordinated activity across all thematic areas.Flexible Approach: Encourage a flexible and adaptable approach within the team for all stages of the commissioning and contracting cycle.Strategic Planning: Develop and deliver coherent business plans for the thematic area, aligning with departmental requirements and service user needs.Market Development: Have overall responsibility for the management and development of the provider market within the thematic area.Negotiations: Undertake negotiations with the market for annual price increases and inflationary uplifts, ensuring a consistent approach across thematic areas.
Person Specification: To be successful in this role, you will need:
Qualifications: Evidence of significant relevant Continuing Professional Development; a formal Commissioning Qualification would be advantageous.Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of commissioning principles, procurement regulations, project management, and the policy environment of health and social care.Experience: Proven track record in a similar management role, leading commissioning strategies, managing budgets, and driving efficiency savings.Skills: Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills, along with the ability to manage complex budgets and conflicting priorities.
