Live In Support Worker in Barnes, SW13. A wonderful family are looking for an interesting and positive individual to support their bright teenage son who has a diagnosis of Cerebral Palsy. Up to £37,128.00 gross per annum + accommodation.

Driver Essential? Yes. To drive a fully adapted automatic vehicle. Must be 21 or over for insurance purposes.
Essential: Experience of working with children and/or adults with physical disabilities. Non-smoker/Vaper. Female Only*. Fluent in English. Confident swimmer. Willing to travel abroad with the family. Educated to A-Level Standard.
Desirable: An interest in history or playing on Xbox would be an advantage. Being tech savvy would be great!
Start Date: ASAP
Days & Hours: A mixture of shifts up to 42 hours per week. Days off: Mondays, after 8am, and all-day Tuesday. One full weekend off a month to be discussed/arranged with the parents.

Adam (16) lives at home with Mum, Dad, and twin sister in the lovely neighbourhood of Barnes. Adam’s schooling is split between home and school, supported by an LSA. Adam’s great passion is history and classical studies. He enjoys activities such as chess, playing on Xbox, going out to the movies or museums, and spending time with friends. Adam attends hydrotherapy on the weekend at a local pool and has physiotherapy every day from his support workers. On-going training will be provided by all therapists involved. Adam has Cerebral palsy and is a cochlear implant and wheelchair user. He requires support with all personal care needs.
Overview of role:
Adam requires a *female, Live-In Support Worker to assist him with all his personal care (toileting, bathing, feeding, dressing), physiotherapy, and keeping his room and equipment clean and tidy. He likes to spend time with his friends and would like someone to facilitate this at home and out at various activities, such as going to the movies or museums. Adam has a twin sister and it’s important that she is included in activities too. There may also be some homework support required, Adam is studying for his GCSE’s. Adam would like someone with lots of positive energy to be proactive in the evenings and weekends, play chess or Xbox with him, and travel internationally in the school holidays. Days & Hours: 42 hours per week. Wage/Salary: £37,128 gross per annum, plus lovely bedroom with en-suite bathroom.

This job would suit a smart and energetic *female, a non-smoker/vaper who has good experience working with children or adults with a physical disability. Someone physically fit to provide manual handling with hoists and all forms of personal care. This position could suit a student as there will be lots of free time during the day to study.
