Hays Social Care are recruiting for a charity that provides support for adults with profound learning and physical disabilities in Harrogate. We are looking for compassionate, motivated and enthusiastic Support Workers to join our clients' team and help them deliver high-quality services to the people they support.
Your new role
As a Support Worker, you will be responsible for assisting and encouraging the people we support to make informed choices and to widen their experiences by focusing on their outcomes.
You will also adhere to and support individuals in their agreed support/care plan or person-centred plan, enabling them to be as independent as possible and to live full and rewarding lives.
You will also enable the people we support to access and use a varied range of facilities, such as shopping, employment, leisure, and housing within the local community. Some of your responsibilities will also include:
Contributing to service development through reviews, staff meetings, supervision, and appraisal Adhering to the Trust's policies and procedures on safeguarding, health and safety, confidentiality, professional boundaries, and regulatory framework at all times Maintaining accurate administration, medication, and financial records Undertaking appropriate training and professional development to deliver support. Providing support/assistance to each person to maintain a high standard of health and personal care and, where required, moving and handling using mobility aids and equipment. Following and implementing CQC standards, contributing to the service being safe, effective, caring, responsive to people's needs and well led. Promoting equality of opportunity and challenging poor and bad practice Carrying out on the spot risk assessments in difficult situations What personal qualities you'll need to succeed in this role

However, you will need to have basic IT skills such as using email and word. You will also need to achieve the induction programme within 3 months, which is a requirement and personal responsibility.
