Working with existing and new suppliers you must be an experienced quality professional with an engineering background and strong supplier development skills.

Salary: GBP 40,000 GBP 52,000 + excellent benefits

Suitable For: Supplier Quality Engineer, Quality Engineer, Senior Quality Engineer, Quality Manager, SQE, QE.

The Role

Supplier development and selection

Carryout supplier audits and report on Key Performance Indicators

Review supplier manufacturing processes and collaborate on process improvement.

Assess, measure and develop suppliers via on-site Quality, Cost, Logistics, Development, management.

Participate in Bill of Materials and Value add engineering activities.

Review supplier capacity readiness for planned production rates

Work with Design and Manufacturing departments to define process parameters.

Strategically lead supplier performance improvement projects

Review, approve and validate 8D permanent corrective actions.

Continuous improvement support of existing supplier base

Develop the supply base to ensure they fulfil the requirements across the key quality areas.

Implementation of Lean, Best in Quality, Production Parts Approval Process (PPAP) & Advanced Parts Quality Planning (APQP)

The Candidate

A proven track record of Supplier Development in an Engineering or Manufacturing environment

Experience and a good understanding of Lean Manufacturing methodology

Proven knowledge and experience of APQP, including the PPAP process, FMEA's, control plans, process flow, and capability studies.

Experience executing quality processes with suppliers.

Ability to read engineering drawings

Ideally will have worked in a Small, Medium Enterprise (SME) with a roll your sleeves up attitude to get things done.
