There can be no doubt that the BMW 2002 is one of the most important cars ever made by the Bavarian marque, with many of its modern production cars tracing their lineage directly back to the sporty little 2.0 litre coupe. It first made it's debut in1968.

In 1971 BMW introduced the 2002 tii model with mechanical fuel injection which brought power up to 130 bhp and also provided improved reliability.

Reluctantly, after 14 years of ownership, this car is only being made available for sale due to a change in circumstances of the current owner.

Thousands of pounds have been spent on the car over the years including a refurbished gearbox and new clutch assembly in 2022.

In 2020 she also benefited from new electronic ignition, alternator, voltage regulator, battery and stainless steel exhaust. Aftermarket central locking was also fitted.

In 2017 a major restoration was undertaken including brake callipers, discs, pads, rear drums, shoes, wheel cylinders, brake pipes, suspension bushes, front and rear shocks, electric fuel pump, radiator, water pump, seat belts and new carpets.

The car comes with a thick history file including numerous invoices and photos.

The body and paintwork are simply amazing, as is the overall structure of the car. The delightful interior, engine bay, boot and underneath are equally as impressive.

The car is a pleasure to drive and the 130 BHP 4 cylinder engine gets you to 60 mph in 8 seconds and on to a top speed of 120 MPH.

Please don't compare this old girl to a modern car. She's 49 years old, and there may be imperfections, blemishes & age related wear & tear in there somewhere, even if not apparent on first viewing. It is inevitable that some degree of tinkering may be required even to a car in this condition.
