The Role
To provide professional subsidence and surveying services in connection with domestic and commercial buildings insurance claims.
To proactively manage own work efficiently and effectively to achieve business objectives and meet defined service level agreements (SLAs). To visit damaged properties and assess technical and insurance aspects required to resolve insurance claims and to reinstate damaged buildings. The role requires a willingness to travel within the UK and flexibility in working arrangements to meet business requirements. To understand, implement and comply with company procedures and policies, and actively promote the principle of treating customers fairly. To liaise with clients, policyholders, local authorities, third parties, claims handlers and other work colleagues as required. To maintain and update accurate records on the company claims management IT system. Duties & Responsibilities
Manage own portfolio of domestic and commercial subsidence claims ensuring service levels are met
Settling / declining claims within our delegated authority limit
Deal with the appointment and management of third-party suppliers, such as arboricultural consultants, site investigation suppliers, drainage repair companies etc, driving claims to settlement
Deal with surveyors and audit surveyor reports
Adhering to customer quality standards and service level agreementsUpdating and creating building repair schedules using our in-house schedule of ratesTo work in harmony with the Company s vision and values
Attend regular supervisions and annual performance appraisals
Manage and undertake training/professional development as necessary
To promote the use of technology and be self-servicing
Ensure the implementation of information security controls within the team and supplier services, ensure that all applicable policies, processes and standards are followed within your area
Ensure that any action points arising from audits and reviews are completed promptly
Ensure that you understand and agree to comply with company policies
Demonstrate information security positive behaviour
Report any IS concerns, weakness or incidents to the Information Security Forum
To work as part of a team, supporting colleagues and communicating effectively with all

The Requirements
Hold an appropriate professional building qualification such as MICE, MRICS, MCIOB, MIStrucE, MCABE or progressing towards this, Experience is considered. Detailed knowledge of structural defects affecting buildings Ability to diagnose the cause of damage without visiting, based on information collected by others Detailed knowledge of subsidence engineering / surveying Experience of the insurance industry and understanding of insurance liability Ability to influence, negotiate and obtain agreement where required Ability to assess and resolve problems and find solutions Excellent interpersonal skills Good time management skills and ability to prioritise in order to meet deadlines Flexible and self-motivated Ability to evaluate facts and recommend decisions Attention to detail Rewards
