2020 Deering Tony Trischka Silver Clipper Banjo.
This is a really top banjo from the Deering Upperline Range (retails new at £5K)
It's in near mint condition. It has been designed in partnership with legendary banjo player Tony Trischka.
I have set it up to my playing specs, and it has a comfortable low action.
It's a very modern construction, with the 24-fret radiused neck and an unusual combination of stunning quilted-maple on the resonator and a maple pot, and solid American mahogany neck. This lends the banjo to different styles (as well as bluegrass)
This banjo sounds just as great as it looks! It has a very meaty and powerful tone. The intonation and the clarity and separation of the notes all the way up the neck are a credit to the maker.
I'm not normally one to sing the praises of Deering banjos, but their higher end banjos are a 'big leap' in class from their less-expensive ranges.
Personally, this probably rates superior to many Gibsons I've owned and played, and is up there with the Huber banjos in terms of sound and playability.
I've attached a video demo of Bill Evans playing the banjo to this advert. Check it out.
If interested - contact me via Gumtree mail and I can arrange for you to come and play it.
You'll be well impressed!
