The Y5 Starseekers Extension & Preparation Group will follow my own tailored programme for children who will be applying for 11+ places at selective independent schools in Cambridgeshire, UK and who are eager to learn, explore and excel with increasing confidence. The syllabus has been designed to encourage an intrinsic love of learning and develop the conceptual understanding and skills pupils need to optimise their chances of securing a place in a highly selective school such as The Perse, Stephen Perse, The Leys, or King’s Ely.

Lessons are specifically devised for able pupils who are currently in Year 5 and are considering taking entrance assessments in January 2025. Both The Perse and Stephen Perse Foundation Schools now require children to complete a group task as part of their assessment. Therefore, the Starseekers Group will provide the best possible preparation for these tasks as well as the more traditional written tests and individual interviews.

The Starseekers Extension Group will consist of no more than 12 children, all with bright, curious minds and a desire to do their best. The group will meet weekly, in-person, in six 5-week blocks spread over the year (one 5-week block every half term, 30 lessons in total). Each lesson will be for 90 minutes.
