The Role:
As a Family Solicitor, you will play a pivotal role in providing legal guidance, handling legal paperwork, attending hearings, overseeing communication, and supervising support personnel.
Responsibilities:
Draft statements, applications, orders, briefs, and trial bundles.Instruct agents or direct support staff to do so for various tasks, such as serving orders or conducting drug and alcohol testing.Collaborating with fellow practitioners within the department, covering each other's hearings or preparing briefs for instructed agents.Drafting various legal documents, including statements, applications, orders, briefs, and trial bundles.Managing daily post and emails, delegating tasks to secretarial staff for handling.Attending different hearings, such as First Hearings, Direction Hearings, Review Hearings, and Final Hearings, as confidence allows.Supervising secretarial and assistant staff, overseeing tasks such as dictation, diary management, file opening, and post verification.Engaging with key referral contacts and public relations (PR) activitiesParticipating in relevant professional development, including Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and other training courses.
Requirements:
Previous experience working as a Family Solicitor, Family Lawyer, Legal Executive or in a similar role.Legal qualification and professional experience in family law.Demonstrable expertise in Family Law Act applications and Private / Public Law Children Act matters.Excellent client communication and case management abilities.
