Adept are pleased to be working with one of the largest international independent manufacturers of aerospace parts. They are currently seeking a skilled Sheet Metal Worker to join their team at the Basildon site.
Have the option to work permanent day shifts or permanent night shifts (nights will include a shift premium).
Key Responsibilities:
As a Sheet Metal Worker, you will play a crucial role in our fabrication process. Key responsibilities include:
– Setting up and operating fabricating machines such as brake press, guillotine, and band saws to cut, bend, and straighten metal.
– Reading and interpreting complex engineering drawings to produce work at a high standard.
– Laying out, measuring, and marking dimensions on materials according to drawings or templates.
– Inspecting parts, assemblies, and installations to ensure conformance to specifications and quality standards.
– Shaping metal materials using various tools, including Stretch Forming, Rubber Press, Brake Press, and Pipe Bending, primarily working with aluminium.
Core Skills/Attributes:
– Knowledge of manufacturing processes, preferably within the aerospace or similar industry.
– Competence in general Sheet Metal duties, including deburring, drilling, countersinking, and forming.
– Previous experience in precision engineering/manufacturing is essential.
– Adherence to ISO9001 procedures and familiarity with fabrication techniques.
– Ability to work in cross–functional teams, ensuring on–time delivery.
– Strong problem analysis and decision–making skills.
– Knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques and modern manufacturing methods.
– Strict adherence to health and safety protocols.

– Timely supply of products to customers.
– Ensuring the delivery of quality–assured products to customers (Quality Performance).
Performance Evaluation:
An annual appraisal will be conducted to assess your performance, progress, and development. Additional reviews may be held to discuss ongoing training needs.
