I am a woodwind instruments repairer and a member of National Association of Musical Instrument Repairers (NAMIR).

Flute service - £25:

• Instrument stripped down.

• Mechanism rods/screws de-grease.

• Cleaned the pads.

• Main body, foot and headjoint cleaned including the bore..

• Mechanism oiled.

• Minor realignment of keywork due to rough handling or damage caused in transit.

• Pads shimmed where leaks have occurred due to humidity changes etc.

• Glued pads refloated.

• Cork pads refloated or adjusted to make airtight.

• Regulation adjusted by mechanism screws, paper shims or cork.

• Spring tension and venting adjusted.

• Missing or worn adjustment corks and felts renewed.

• Obvious mechanism clatter removed.

• Head & footjoint fitting checked and adjusted if necessary.

• Any double action removed.

• Headcork checked to see if it is tight and in the correct position.

• Instrument then tested.
