Brown & Brown is seeking a Senior Technical underwriter for technical underwriting teams in Bromley. The role of the Technical Underwriting Department is to have oversight of underwriting, pricing and loss ratio performance including underwriting control to ensure budget and performance targets are met across the Commercial Schemes division in accordance with the Business & Capacity Agreements
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Technical Underwriting
Work closely with the Underwriting Director and Head of Underwriting to:
Ensure technical documentation is compliant with regulatory and binder requirements.Ensure all scheme and product underwriting guides are in place and regularly updated and reissued appropriately.Ensure technical underwriting endorsements maintain contract certainty and are kept up to date with any technical documentation system changes.Manage manually applied technical underwriting endorsements in accordance with our authority.Respond to internal referrals from Trading and Claims teammates. Underwriting & Product Governance
Work closely with the Underwriting Director and Head of Underwriting to;
Ensure the product governance and oversight process is managed in line with the required frequency or when changes required, or when launching new products and ensure all technical documentation suite is signed off by the required deadlines.Contribute to creation, maintenance, version control and review of wordings, FAQs, Product SummariesTest any changes made within our systems to ensure compliance.Sub-Cover holders are meeting their compliance requirements.Develop and maintain exception reports with Systems and MI team, embed in operation and monitor.Obtain Data and MI to analyze update and maintain performance reports for internal and external use to ensure we are hitting agreed targets.Create, maintain, and review Underwriting Licenses Binders
Work closely with the Underwriting Director and Head of Underwriting to ;Ensure binders are current and up to date.Create and update endorsement for any changes which are agreed.Maintain relationships with Capacity/ Co cover holders to assist in any changes required. Underwriting Quality
Peer Review - continue to work with Compliance to assist in enhancing the existing procedures and processes. On an ongoing basis work with Heads of Department & Compliance, to ensure appropriate actions are taken to address problems and solutions are created to ensure high standards are met.Conduct quality reviews monthly.Assist in conducting large case/claim reviews. WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
At least Cert CII qualified progressing towards Dip CII and A-level standardHigh level of understanding of technical underwriting, endorsement writing, policy wording management, contract certainty, underwriting management, binder management, governance, and controlAt least 5 years of experience within an MGA, insurance company or Lloyd's syndicate in a senior underwriting role We are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
