The Raytheon UK Weapons & Sensors team has an exciting opportunity for an engineer to join and assist in developing and delivering complex, high-profile programmes to Customers based in the UK.
The role, reporting directly to the Senior Programme Manager within the Power Development Team, offers excellent opportunities to grow in a challenging and rewarding environment, supported by a dynamic, close-knit multi-functional team.

We are looking for a motivated, experienced Systems Engineer in all aspects of a product lifecycle.
The role will be based at Raytheon's Livingston facility, whilst covering our Glenrothes site also. We are seeking an experienced Systems Engineer with a background in defence or aerospace to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of requirements management, system design, interface management, integration, verification, validation (IV&V), and product qualification.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Requirements Management: Capture, analyse, and manage system requirements, ensuring that they are well defined, verifiable, and traceable throughout the product lifecycle.
2. System Design: Design and optimise system architectures and components to meet requirements while considering constraints such as performance, cost, size etc.
3. Interface Management: Oversee and manage the technical interfaces between subsystems and external systems, ensuring interoperability and performance metrics are met.
4. Integration, Verification & Validation (IV&V): Develop and implement IV&V plans and procedures, ensure system compliance with requirements, and verify system performance through rigorous testing.
5. Product Qualification: Lead efforts to ensure systems meet necessary certifications and standards for defence/aerospace industry, ensuring products are ready for operational deployment.
6. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including software, electrical, mechanical engineers, and project managers to deliver integrated solutions.
7. Support root cause analyses and problem resolution for system issues.
8. Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior engineers.
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of "5 years" experience in the defence or aerospace sector.
- Proven track record in requirements management, system design, interface management, IV&V, and product qualification.
- Familiarity with defence and/or aerospace standards and regulations.
- Proficiency with engineering tools for modelling, simulation, and analysis.
- Technical Leadership/Direction
Desirable Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication abilities, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Experience with DOORS, MBSE, MATLAB.
- Leadership/Management of engineering personnel
