Osprey CSL (a Science Group company) are recruiting an experienced Safety/Airworthiness consultant to provide support across our aviation and space projects. Our team offers a range of independent and unbiased advice in safety, engineering and technical consultancy services to a wide breadth of sectors across civil and military aviation domains. We are seeking Safety/Airworthiness consultants with a good understanding of the Aerospace & Defence and wider Markets to provide high quality safety management solutions.
The role
As a Senior Consultant within the Platforms and Air Systems Team you will be employed on a wide variety of projects across our Portfolio. With projects ranging from certification support for the UK MOD, through to Independent Safety Assurance for Space Launch, the variety and complexities of our projects will be challenging and exciting. Our concept is to provide a broad range of opportunities to our staff and a variety of projects to work on concurrently.
The PAAS Team work across Defence and Civil aviation environments and through the whole life cycle. The type of work that you could find yourself involved in includes; developing Air System Safety Cases, providing Type Airworthiness Safety Assessments, Certification support, Independent Technical Support into procurement of new aircraft types, providing safety engineering support, provision of core safety support (including Organisational Safety Assessments), or part of a team advising on next gen aviation regulations. The PAAS Team also offer opportunities in the Space domain where we support both vertical and horizontal launch companies with safety and regulatory assessments.
About you
Essential
• Experience of Safety Management within the MOD Air Domain Delivery Teams
• Expert knowledge of MOD safety standards, legislation and policies
• Expert knowledge of the MAA s MRP
• Experience of using tools such as ASCE, BowTieXP, eCASSANDRA
• Explicit knowledge of the ASPIRE process including development of TASA and EcRtL
• Management and upkeep of Hazard Logs
• Demonstrable understanding of civil aviation safety legislation, regulation, standards and policies
• Demonstrable experience in conducting Independent Safety Audits
• Professional registration at minimum of Incorporated Engineer
Desirable
• Incorporated or Chartered Engineer
• Experience with RTSA or development of RTSRs
• Air Safety management experience (incl. development of ASSC)
• Environmental management experience
• Air System Certification experience
