Senior R&D Design Engineer
Photocentric Ltd is a rapidly growing manufacturer based in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire and the USA. Three times Queens Award winners, we manufacture our own 3D printers and resins and export all over the world. We have embarked on some exciting business partnerships which are rapidly changed the direction of our business. We have an exciting opportunity to recruit a talented Senior3D Printing Design Engineer to join our creative team of R&D design engineers.
This position will suit an experienced and accomplished design engineer who loves working in a challenging Research & Development environment. You must be passionate about innovation and a creative thinker with a genuine interest in 3D printing. For the right person there will be the opportunity to be responsible and lead the development of our projects and engineers.
Duties and Responsibilities of our Senior R&D Design Engineer
Lead the design and development of new products, including concept generation, prototyping, and testingDeveloping our technical roadmap based on innovation, market demands and customers' feedbackWork with cross-functional teams, including marketing, manufacturing, and quality, to ensure successful product launchesDevelop and maintain project timelines, budgets, and resourcesCollaborate with external partners, including vendors and suppliers, to ensure the successful completion of projectsContinuously improve existing products through design changes, cost reduction initiatives, and process improvementsConduct risk assessments and implement appropriate mitigation strategiesEnsure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standardsOpportunity to manage a small team and major projects. What we're looking for in our Senior R&D Design Engineer:
Inquisitive, creative mind with extensive experience of working in R&D and bringing innovative products to marketExtensive experience gained from a similar manufacturing environmentExperience in the design and construction of machines using control systems, sensors or conveyorsDemonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environmentPassion about innovative products with a genuine interest in 3D printingNatural leader, strong communicator, able to provide direction to a rapidly growing engineering teamEfficient project managerKnowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards is a plusBachelors/master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related subject, along with industry experienceGenuine interest in 3D printing.
