Due to continued expansion of our Nuclear licensed facility in Dorset, Tradebe/Inutec require a Laboratory Chemist

Main purpose of job:

To perform chemical and radiochemical analyses and supporting operations in the laboratories.

The person

Previous experience working in a laboratoryWorking to the requirements of BS EN ISO/IEC 17025 (desirable)Basic knowledge of chemical techniquesKnowledge of radiochemical techniques or the waste industry (desirable)Computer literate with basic knowledge of Excel and WordGood written, presentation and verbal communication skillsAbility to work independently and be self-motivated.Good time management and attention to detailProfessional and positive approach

The role

Prepare samples for analysis, including receipt and logging of samplesPerform analyses as per the QA wallet, following safe working practicesPrepare and review analytical QA documentationEnsure QA checks are carried out and recordedCalibrate instruments and equipment as per their scheduleEnsure instrument performance checks have been completedSupport with final disposal of samplesSupport the development of new/existing analytical techniquesSupport the development of more efficient working practicesPerform operational work and support other Tradebe Inutec activities away from the labs, if requiredShare best practice for lab operations and knowledge to colleagues within the team.
