The Vacancy
We are looking a Senior Producer to join us and play a key role in Theatre Royal Plymouth s Leadership Team.
In this role you will be responsible for the coordination and line producing of TRP productions, working with a range of departments. Whether a project, event, or a production on one of TRP s stages or in a village hall in Devon, the Senior Producer must always work to TRP s vision and values.
You will work closely with departments across the building including Planning, Production, Technical, Marketing, Communications, Box Office, Front of House and Finance.
Key responsibilities:
To ensure that all the TRP s artistic work is produced to the highest standards and to provide supportive and positive relationships with artists and creative partners.
To be the main point of contact both for the creative team on a production or other artistic projects or event and for the rest of TRP, and to ensure communication is clear and consistent between the two.
To work closely with the Executive Director, Producing and Programming and Head of Finance, to draft and refine show budgets to assess feasibility and establish financial parameters for each show.
To work closely with the Marketing and Communications team, advising on contractual requirements, attending marketing and image design meetings, checking brochure, poster and programme proofs prior to print.
To support the Executive Director, Producing and Programming in the negotiation of co-production contracts, where required. To ensure that their terms are communicated to relevant departments and upheld.
To attend production meetings, marketing and press meetings and planning meetings as and when required.
To work with the Head of Production on recruitment of the Stage Management Team.
Our ideal candidate:
Professional experience of producing at scale.
Experience of creative team and co-production contract negotiation, drafting and execution.
Numeracy and budget management skills including previous experience of creating and managing complex budgets.
Significant experience of working with creative teams
Numeracy and budget management skills including previous experience of creating and managing complex budgets
Good understanding of Equity and BECTU agreements
Good leadership skills and experience of managing teams of staff.
