Senior Mining Engineer

At British Gypsum we are looking for a Senior Mining Engineer to work within our Production Mining Engineering team. The Senior Mining Engineer is responsible for supporting the wider Geological Mining Services strategy to maintain 25 years of reserves through leading the Life of Mine planning process for the mines. This consists of long term mine planning for the existing mining and quarrying operations, with a particular focus on delivering extensions to reserves and expansions to production capacity, as well as supporting the development of designs and evaluations for new sites. To support other teams when required and directed to, but the key focus of this role is to develop comprehensive Life of Mine plans which are detailed reports encompassing resource and reserve evaluations, mine designs, schedules, and costings, that will help guide the technical services and operational mining teams to ensure development and extraction follows the optimized mining plan
The Senior Mining Engineer will be a part of a safety focus, highly skilled and technical minded team based out of East Leake, Leicestershire. The team is made up of a Senior Geologist, Mineral Surveyor and a Senior Estates & Mineral Planner, who report into the Mineral Strategy & Exploration Manager. What we're looking for:
Solid experience in a Senior Mining Engineer with knowledge and familiarity in the application of mines regulationYou have previous Underground mine planning & scheduling experience (preferably with Datamine or other integrated mine planning software)Possess a prominent level of safety management competencyKnowledge of financial and business strategy in relation to mine feasibility studies and understanding of building cost modelsHolds a Degree in Mining EngineeringAbility to work under pressure and manage multiple simultaneous prioritiesChartered Professional Status, equivalent, or working towards Are British Gypsum and Saint-Gobain inclusive employers?
