Position: Senior Mechanical Engineer

Reports to: Lead Engineer

Location: Cardiff

The Opportunity

The company are looking for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their busy building services team based in Cardiff.

They are looking for someone who is already working as a Senior Mechanical engineer and ideally have the desire to progress their career to a management position. Candidates should be able to demonstrate relevant skills and experience within a similar role.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide input on design strategy and conceptual design relative to mechanical installations Design mechanical installations including the production of design drawings, diagrams and schematics along with project specifications and schedules Lead an M&E Team in the coordination and delivery of individual projects, including attendance at meetings, internal programming, project reviews etc. Undertake Lead Engineer duties including checking on other engineers work and take on active role in the development of trainees. Manager client and design team relationships . Understand clients needs and interpret and confirm the project brief Have an understanding of electrical engineering systems and the ability to report of both disciplines during meetings.

Key Requirements:

Qualifications including= BEng, BSc, Meng or MSc in relevant engineering subject (Architectual Engineering, Building Services Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or HNC/HND in relevant engineer subject) Can demonstrate project management skills Software Skills including: Hevacomp/Amtech, Dialux/Relux, Barbour Index, Specification Expert, Microsoft Office Experience in CAD drafting systems Flexible outlook and has and has an engineering approach to problem solving.
