The Educational Recording Agency (ERA) is a copyright licensing agency facilitating the use of TV and radio recordings in education. Our members include BBC, ITV and Channel 4. ERA supports teachers and lecturers by making it easy for schools, colleges and universities to harness the power of audio-visual broadcast material for non-commercial educational purposes. Our growth strategy involves producing curated programmes of high-quality education resources that showcase this rich material for teachers and lecturers by themes and subjects.
To support this exciting programme, we’re looking for a bright, dynamic senior marketing executive with a passion for education to join our friendly team and help us create greater awareness of and engagement with this new phase of ERA’s work.
Job overview
As a senior marketing executive reporting to the CEO, you’ll lead on the planning and execution of ERA’s marketing and communications campaigns to promote ERA’s services. This will include increasing ERA’s social media reach and developing case studies that illustrate best practice in the use of broadcast recordings in teaching and learning. You will also will liaise with colleagues on the strategic development of the content portfolio, helping to identify and meet the target audiences’ needs.
You will be expected to use a broad range of marketing skills creatively in growing usage of ERA content in education, and deploy a range of marketing channels, including email, social media, digital advertising, direct mail (and more) to deliver engagement and traffic for ERA’s products.
The job is full-time but depending on the candidate’s experience we will consider part-time hours. Flexible working requests will also be considered. ERA currently operates a hybrid-working arrangement with a minimum of two days in the office and up to three days working from home.

Responsibilities and duties:
Plan and execute email campaigns and in-house e-newsletters, regularly reviewing and refreshing creative approach and core messaging
Create and implement social media campaigns, producing image, text and AV content
Plan, implement and analyse the effectiveness of digital advertising campaigns, adapting approach and messaging where necessary
Engage with educator influencers and relevant ERA partners to enhance awareness and engagement
Research and write case studies for the site and social media
Work with colleagues to understand user needs, identify strong content and create plans for new campaigns
Generate and manage communications content for the website
Use web analytics software to track campaign performance, report and review
Skills and Experience:
At least three years working in marketing and communications, preferably in education or third sector
Good understanding of the education landscape in the UK
Active understanding of social media and engaging influencers
Experience in using email marketing platforms and social media planning and scheduling tools effectively
Experience in creating and executing Google and Facebook advertising campaigns
Experience in using web analytics, particularly Google Analytics
Ability to multi-task priorities and handle different projects efficiently
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written and the ability to communicate at all levels
Ability to work both independently and as a team member
Fluent in English with strong spelling and grammar
Flexible, enthusiastic and proactive approach to work
Ability to stay ‘cool’ when the pressure is on
Good proofreading skills
Competent user of Microsoft Office
