Senior Geotechnical Laboratory Technician

Our client, a well established, hugely successful, marine survey company, is currently seeking a Senior Laboratory Technician to join their growing team, located in Great Yarmouth.

This is a full time, permanent opportunity, working 37.5 hours per week (09:00 - 17:30).

As a Senior Geotechnical Laboratory Technician, you will take the lead in running and supporting Junior Technicians in running tests in our client's dedicated and recently expanded advanced testing laboratory.

Your responsibilities include:

Processing and QC of advanced laboratory testingTo run and support junior technicians in running advanced laboratory testing such as effective stress triaxials, direct simple shear, CRS, and interface ring shearTo provide more training for both testing and calibrationAssist in processing Laboratory test results for relevant tests (e.g. UUT, thermal resistivity, shearbox, effective stress tests, etc.)Execute geotechnical laboratory testing programs Qualifications:

Ability to become familiar with testing procedures and standardsAn A Level or higher in Geology or a science related subjectPrevious experience running advanced tests in a geotechnical laboratoryExperience mentoring and overseeing the performance of Junior TechniciansAbility to work closely with others in a team environmentIT literate, with a high level of competence with the Microsoft Office suiteCommunicates; in a clear, open and honest way and encourages constructive feedbackHigh attention to detail, self motivated, and can show initiative Additional Information:
