A unique and exciting opportunity has arisen to work as Senior Housing Officer for Eldon Housing Association to make a difference to Eldon’s tenants. As an established provider of Extra Care, Sheltered Housing and Facilities Management Services in and around Croydon and West Sussex, we are proud to provide high standards of service to older and vulnerable people in a passionate, professional, and caring manner.
Eldon Housing now owns just under 300 homes across 13 locations in Croydon and West Sussex providing a mix of general needs, semi-independent living, sheltered and extra care sheltered housing. The Association also has a PFI contract, a Registered Domiciliary Care service and an extra care sheltered project of 48 flats completed in November 2021.
The Senior Housing Officer will be responsible for and lead on housing management services for the Association. Making a significant contribution to the future direction of Eldon, you will add value, ideas, inspiration and really drive forward our continued success. This is an opportunity to make a difference and take forward housing management services with an independent and sustainable organisation with future development plans.
Providing a highly responsive and professional housing management service to all the Association's tenants, key responsibilities will include:
Taking forward tenant engagement
Income maximisation through the effective management of voids, lettings and arrears management.
To provide good administration
Rent accounting and service charge management in partnership with the finance team.
Ensure compliance with the new consumer regulations, regulatory requirements and best practice.
Be the first point of contact for all housing related queries.
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
Proven experience of managing and delivering housing services.
Proven understanding of housing legislation and best practice.
Good IT Skills, including Microsoft Office.
Proven effective communication skills both orally and in writing.
Experience of working in a busy multi functional office.
Ability to make decisions when faced with emergencies.
Ability to produce clear and concise reports.
Demonstrates sensitivity respect and consideration.
Ability to promote and represent the Association and its values externally.
Supportive of a charitable organisations aims and values.
Relevant qualification in Housing Management working towards or willing to undertake a Housing qualification.
