Penguin Recruitment are working with a fantastic niche consultancy who specialise in providing ecological consultancy services to a well-established portfolio of high-profile clients in both the public and private sectors. Their Oxfordshire based team has a wealth of experience and expertise advising on an extensive range of projects nationwide with a focus on integrating ecological habitats and wildlife benefits within new developments. Their portfolio of projects is wide ranging both geographically and in terms of the sectors within which they operate. Recent examples include HS2 and Manston Airport in Kent. They are looking for a Senior Ecologist to join them. This is a full-time, permanent role Based in Oxfordshire.
The Senior Ecologist position offers:
Salary of 29,000 - 35,000Clear progression pathwayFull training and supportHybrid workingAs a Senior Ecologist, working within the ecology team, you will be organising, overseeing and undertaking a range of field survey work for habitats and faunal species (e.g. Phase 1, bats, Badger, GCN, reptiles, Otter, Water Vole, nesting birds, etc.) across the UK. You will also carry out background research, prepare fee proposals, manage and analyse field survey data, manage projects, liaise with clients, as well as carrying out interpretation, proofing and writing of technical reports such as diligence assessments, ecological appraisals, EIA chapters, shadow HRAs, licence applications and management plans.
To succeed you will need:
A minimum of 3 - 4 years' relevant professional experience in ecological consultancy or closely related field including the public sector or conservation bodiesA relevant degree and/or post graduate qualification, with a strong academic ability and recordThe ability to produce concise, high quality, written reportsComprehensive experience with UK botanical and faunal identificationKnowledge and experience of Phase 1 habitat surveysKnowledge and experience of undertaking protected species surveys, mitigation and licensingA detailed understanding of UK wildlife legislation and policyFull driving licence and own carFinding your next role takes careful consideration, so if you are interested in this or other roles in ecological consultancy, please contact Lloyd Key via (url removed) or call (phone number removed).
