Have you been a 'Product Owner' or 'Product Manager' for an extended period, with formal training in Product Management? Have you spent considerable time managing a Volunteer or Membership product , LMS, and/or a Primary website for an organisation?
Do you have experience of a workplace with an established use of product management and can bring that knowledge to help an organisation with big ambitions to move forwards in that area?
Do you have experience of managing digital products which don't have a commercial focus, where profit is not the ultimate aim? Does the opportunity to make a real difference for a not-for-profit youth organisation fill you with the same sense of excitement as it does for us?
If you can answer yes to these, then we want to hear from you and how you could help guide us, as part of our digital transformation.
At Girlguiding we're changing our digital approach to supporting over 300,000 girls and 75,000 volunteers in the UK. We are proud to be over 110 years old and constantly developing throughout this time. We're now looking at the next steps on this path within our digital strategy.
We're searching for an inquisitive and progressive senior/digital product owner who will help us maximise the value of our digital product portfolio.
In this role you will:
Lead and manage at least one of Girlguiding's digital products, including their quality, visions, and priorities. Engage, manage and inspire users and stakeholders, to identify their needs whilst meeting strategic objectives. Be the digital and product subject matter expert, you'll be the point of contact, and escalation. Proactively be on top of user behaviour and interaction to make evidence-based decisions from feedback and insights from data. Champion best practices and help show us what great looks like, how we get there and promote this in our organisation. Coach and develop at least one person in the product team. You'll need to be resilient, tenacious and comfortable with ambiguity as we work to evolve our digital capability and products as well as having a truly positive approach and growth mindset. In return you'll great a warm welcome from an amazing group of like-minded people and the chance to work on products which support us to give life-changing experiences and aspirations.
About Girlguiding
This is a really exciting time to join Girlguiding. We have much to be proud of in our one hundred years of history, but we know that to remain vibrant and relevant to young people we must continually evolve.
We've begun a process of significant change: transforming the organisation so it can meet the challenges of the future by putting young people at the heart of our organisation. We're on a mission to amplify the voices of girls and young women, so they can champion change in their own lives and the wider world; to build strong partnerships that can increase our reach and impact; and to increase the support we offer our amazing adult volunteers who deliver incredible experiences to young people across the UK every week.
Girlguiding values the differences that a diverse workforce brings and is committed to inclusivity, and to employing and supporting a diverse workforce. Girlguiding is proud to be part of the Stonewall Diversity Champions programme, a member of the Business Disability Forum, and a member of Time to Change. While Girlguiding's young members may be women only, our staff team is mixed gender. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds.
Girlguiding operates a hybrid working arrangement where office-based staff are required to attend the office on average two days a week, or 40% of working time across the year. We're committed though to supporting our staff to achieve a good work-life balance and offer flexible working options wherever we reasonably can. All staff are required to carry out our online health and safety training and complete a DSE risk assessment to ensure we can provide the support you require.
