The role
Greengage is looking for motivated and enthusiastic Senior Consultant to join our Nature Team. The role requires a dynamic person who can excel in client management while delivering high-quality services and supporting the career development of colleagues. Our Nature Team is comprised of a passionate group of colleagues with experience in planning ecology, natural capital and ecosystem service assessment, corporate biodiversity strategy and biodiversity net gain governance and application.
The role can be based from: London, Manchester or Sheffield. Your Responsibilities
• Managing simple to moderate complexity projects from start to finish, acting as a key client contact and representing Greengage by providing quality advice; • Collaborating with /supporting colleagues to support the delivery of larger projects (both within the Nature Team and multidisciplinary projects working with other Greengage teams); • Tender production, client liaison and management of budgets; • Provide input to support delivery of client assignments - e.g. prepare and process technical information such as protected species reports and mitigation strategies, licence applications etc; • Support Directors, Associates and Principal Consultants by writing reports and proposals; • Contribute as a member of multidisciplinary projects; • Liaise with clients, other consultants and external stakeholders to obtain information and update the team on key aspects / opportunities / issues; • Attend meetings including project based design team meetings unsupported and provide information as required to a mixed audience; • Support senior colleagues by contributing to presentations and business development BD activities including the delivery of CPDs and article writing on technical topics.
What we need from you
• A bachelor's or master's degree (desirable) in Ecology, Conservation Biology, Environmental Science, Geography, or a related field and full membership of CIEEM. • Highly organised and motivated individual • Working knowledge of IT • Excellent report writing skills • At least 5 years of ecological consultancy experience (or equivalent) • Protected species licence/s (desirable) and mitigation licence experience • Enthusiastic about sustainability • Good client management and consultancy skills
