A technology manufacturing business require a Senior Buyer. Applicants need demonstrable strategic procurement expertise, or the ability to add technical procurement knowledge, gained within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
The Senior Buyer will work closely with the Procurement & Supply Chain Management team, to inject energy and add strategic competency or technical knowledge into the procurement team. Collaborating closely with technical stakeholders in engineering, it's also hoped the Senior Buyer can drive the introduction of new processes and procedures into the function.
Specific duties of the Senior Buyer include:
Support the achievement of both day-to-day operational, and medium term strategic procurement plansProcurement of direct materials and services in-line with production and cost saving objectivesSupplier selection, negotiation, development and ongoing supplier management activitiesEnsure continuity of supply to production linesLiaison with engineering in regards to supplier quality, NPI, and technical (CAD) drawings.Help drive LEAN and best practice procurement procedures and policies
Senior Buyer applicants should meet the following criteria:
Ability to demonstrate strategic achievements within procurement, and / or read technical CAD drawingsProcurement experience as a; Buyer, Senior Buyer, Strategic Buyer, Procurement Manager within manufacturing or engineeringKnowledge of best practice procurement procedures and techniquesAbility to read technical (CAD) drawings, and/or have strategic procurement skillsMRP/ERP literacyAbility to foster excellent relationships, both internally and externally
