About the Company

Alpha 3 Manufacturing is a specialist in electronic engineering, supporting a wide range of customers with cable harnesses, electrical components and complex electrical mechanical assemblies across two divisions, one being based in Scunthorpe and the other being based in Stoke-on-Trent. Going through a period of business transformation and growth, it is a very exciting time at Alpha 3.

About the Role

As Senior Buyer, you will be joining an already established category-led procurement function with a focus on delivering competitive and effective sourcing across mechanical and electro-mechanical commodity categories. With ownership across your categories, the Senior Buyer will work closely with technical teams across the business and will be tasked to strategically identify, source and build relationships with international suppliers to ensure material supply hits business quality, volume and inventory targets.

With planned business growth and plenty of future opportunities, this role would also suit an already established Senior Buyer or future Purchasing Manager or Procurement Leader with desires to progress and develop professionally.

Desired Skills & Experience

For position of Senior Buyer, the candidate will demonstrate the following skills and experience:

Experience within a strategic purchasing position Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport and relationships with a global portfolio of suppliers and sub-contract manufacturing partners to deliver effective cost negotiations and quality requirements Ability to lead daily purchasing operations within the assigned categories Experience working within a fast-paced engineering / manufacturing environment. Previous experience working within an Aerospace or Defence organisation is highly desirable Ability to read and understand technical drawings and specifications A driven and proactive mind-set with a keen eye for opportunities to make improvements (internally and commercially) A strong team player who enjoys collaborating within the purchasing team and with other functions within the business Strong MRP and Excel skills For more information and to apply, please get in touch with Skye Madden - Managing Consultant at Jackson Hogg.
