We are recruiting for a Senior Business Analyst. The IS Business Analysis team provide cross-enterprise business analysis services to AWE. Alongside the Delivery teams, the Senior Business Analyst enables the definition of business needs and delivery of work packages to programmes and projects across the organisation, throughout the Demand and Delivery lifecycles from Strategy through handover and in-life service.

Key Accountabilities:

To lead, motivate and develop a team of people engaged in the delivery of Business Analysis across AWE.To develop and manage the Business Analysis Service as a whole to effectively support Business Engagement and Delivery requirements.Ensure the BA Team is resourced to meet the demand identified through the Front-End process and in the Portfolio.Allocation of staff to projects, services and tasks, managing workloads and staff availability issues as well as individual capability.Build good working relationships with specialist contractors and suppliers of BA resources.Own/Manage the Front-End process, which includes the demand capture, assessment, prioritisation evaluation/scoping, and handover to Delivery.Develop, Manage and Maintain the "IS Portfolio", to enable (and be able to demonstrate) effective demand management and Portfolio Management. The IS Portfolio includes all activities including demand (pipeline) and change activities (Projects and Managed Tasks).Build sound working relationships with the team's customer community in order to gain an understanding of customer requirements, business drivers, and satisfaction levels from the service provided.Maintain and promote high personal standards in environment, safety, health, security and quality and be a great team player.Additional accountabilities for this job profile may be defined and appointed through the Chief Engineer Management Arrangements, with appointees listed within the Company Design Authorities and Technical Authorities, as held in the company management system.

Key Responsibilities:

Line manage the internal BA resources and oversee the task management of the external BA resources.For the BA service: ensure effective and timely response to BA resource requests, utilisation and budget targets are met, provision of appropriate reporting/tracking (SLAs, BA resource demand (current, future), BA utilisation etc.) and identify and oversee improvements.Ensure timely forecasting of expenditure against budgets to enable effective planning by the PMO.For the Demand Service: define and implement the front end process, rationalise and cleanse the Demand data, provision of appropriate reporting/tracking (SLAs, quality of demand data, status of Portfolio) and identify and oversee improvements.For both services ensure effective interfaces with stakeholders (IS Bus Engagement team, IS PMO, SACO and IS Senior Leadership team).The Company may require you to fulfil any other reasonable duties aligned to your position from time to time in line with business needs.

You Will Have:

10+ Years experience within a Business Analyst roleRecent use of Waterfall methodologiesBCS International Diploma in Business Analysis or equivalent is desirable but certainly not essentialWork Package and Problem Statement definition.Impact Analysis, Gap analysis, Root cause Analysis.Definition of Scope and Objectives, Stakeholder mapping.Requirements Management: elicitation, documentation, validation, prioritisation, review and sign-off.Workshop facilitation, stakeholder 121s, questionnaire creation, focus groups.Functional and Non-Functional Requirements definition: Functional Breakdown Structure, High and Low-level Requirements definition, User stories and Acceptance criteria; Requirements Catalogue, Business Rules, Wireframing, Business Context Diagrams, Business Process Modelling and Mapping; Business Process Re-engineering.Solution assessment and validation.Definition of MVPs, KPIs and metrics for Financial and Operational Benefits Realisation.Expert Stakeholder Management and Communication skills.Experience in mentoring and coaching junior Business Analysts.Extensive experience delivering multiple work-packages at pace in a secure and highly regulated, change focussed environment.

All Candidates must be willing and able to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance for the role.
