Description

The GLA is looking to recruit an exceptional candidate to provide secretariat and clerking support to mayoral boards and decision-making processes.

You’ll be joining a high-performing team at City Hall with an excellent reputation. As well as mayoral boards, the wider team provides secretariat support to boards of the London Assembly, Transport for London, the Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime, London Legacy Development Corporation and Old Oak and Park Royal Development Corporation. It’s an exciting working environment with great scope for professional development.

You will play a key role in local democracy, dealing with senior officers, politicians, and board members in a fast-paced environment. You’ll support work that you’ll then see covered in the media on your way home.

You need a proven track record of:

managing formal meetings involving decision-making processes, ideally in a high-profile or complex organisation

interpreting and applying governance best practice

dealing effectively with senior stakeholders

consistently meeting demanding deadlines in a pressurised environment.

We want someone who can see the big picture but maintain their focus on the detail. You will be able to work quickly across a range of issues and relish a challenge. Excellent written communication skills, and the ability to liaise with senior staff and politicians with tact and diplomacy, are essential.

If you have a question about the role or would like to discuss it informally, please feel free to contact Eleanor Lloyd at [email protected] to arrange a call.
