Job Title: Senior Accountant - Local Authority (3-month Contract)

Location: Hillingdon, London

Daily Rate: 450

Job Purpose: As a Senior Accountant for a local authority in Hillingdon, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Senior Service Manager - Corporate Finance and Principal Accountants. Your primary responsibilities include providing expert budget monitoring and development advice to accountants across the council, maintaining and developing financial models for comprehensive financial planning, and contributing to the analysis of the Council's main funding sources. Additionally, you will support the annual budget production process and the monthly budget monitoring process while assisting with accounting for the Collection Fund.

Key Responsibilities:

Support the Senior Service Manager and Principal Accountants in providing budget monitoring and development advice to accountants across the council.Maintain and develop financial models for all aspects of financial planning, including analysis of the Council's main funding sources such as Local Government Finance Settlements, CSR implications, and future funding streams like retention of NNDR.Support the annual budget production process for the council.Assist with the monthly budget monitoring process.Contribute to the accounting for the Collection Fund.Requirements:

Passed first year of a full professional CCAB accounting qualification.2 years of local government finance experience.Experience using financial systems within a large, complex organisation.Key Skills and Competencies:

Strong analytical and financial modeling skills.Excellent knowledge of local government finance processes.Ability to provide clear and concise financial advice.Proficiency in using financial systems within a large organisation.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Contract Duration: 3 months
