Security Officer The Role:

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to grow and develop within the security industry, joining a team of professional officers who are committed to creating a safe and secure learning, working and living environment within Kingston University!

• Ensure the safety and security of staff, students and visitors

• Maintain accurate records, both in note books and as official incident reports

• Ensure information is available for the Duty Security Supervisor and Hall Manager, while respecting Data Protection Take appropriate action to handle and contain incidents sensitively (e.g. aggression, theft)

• Provide first aid as needed (This may include making calls to Thamesdoc or to the emergency services)

• Taking control of, emergency incidents such as Fire Alarms

• Deal with emergency maintenance issues that may occur during a shift

• Ensure the University parking regulations are upheld, preventing and reporting dangerous driving

• In any emergency situation to immediately contact Shift Supervisor and /or police if applicable.

• Develop and maintain good working relationships with both University and external authorities

• Develop good relationships with staff, students, contractors and visitors

• Where necessary, drive the Security mobile vehicle and act as support to other officers

• Understand and follow Security Standing Orders and Assignment Instructions

Security Officer What we need from you:

It is essential that you hold a valid Door Supervisor SIA Licence along with a full driving licence to be considered for this role.

It would be great if you did have previous experience within a similar role or environment however, it not essential.

• A full driving Licence

• A current Door Supervisor SIA licence

• A good understanding of Safe Working practices (HASAW)
