Job Overview:
As a Litigation Secretary at the firm, the successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the litigation team by providing efficient administrative and secretarial assistance. Responsibilities include managing legal documents, coordinating communication, and ensuring the smooth operation of the litigation department.
Key Responsibilities:
Document Management: Prepare, edit, and proofread legal documents, including pleadings, briefs, and correspondence. Maintain organized and accurate electronic and physical filing systems. Assist in the drafting and filing of court documents. Calendar Management: Coordinate and manage attorneys' schedules, including court appearances, meetings, and deadlines. Arrange meetings, hearings, and conferences, ensuring all logistical details are addressed. Communication: Act as a liaison between attorneys, clients, and court personnel. Handle incoming calls, emails, and correspondence promptly and professionally. Update clients on case status and relay messages to the appropriate parties. Administrative Support: Conduct legal research and gather relevant information as needed. Provide general administrative support, including photocopying, scanning, and filing. Client Relations: Maintain positive and professional relationships with clients. Assist in preparing clients for meetings, hearings, or other legal proceedings. Qualifications:
Proven experience as a legal secretary, with a focus on litigation. Proficiency in legal document preparation and case management software. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team. Knowledge of legal terminology, court rules, and procedures. Education and Experience:
