My client is a North London large secondary school, looking to recruit a Finance Manager to join the senior support staff.With the support of two finance staff and reporting into the dedicated Head, the role centres on managing the income and expenditure of the school, providing insightful reporting and analysis for the SLT. Key to success in this post will be setting and controlling budgets, alongside the financial management and appraisal of the procurement of services, supplies and products for the school. You'll become the trusted advisor to the Head, helping with sound strategic financial insight on future projects, plans and investments. You'll ensure various annual reporting deadlines are met, managing the ESFA and HRMC statutory returns. You'll work in close proximity with other areas of the support function (IT, Administration and HR) supporting collaborative working and decision making. Applications are sought from experienced finance candidates, holding a recognised accountancy qualification, with previous experience of operating at a similar level, ideally within education or other public sector experience. That said, evidence of managing and controlling budgets, good IT and reporting experience will be required.
