This lovely vintage tankard is rare thus collectible.
It was made in 1990 by Royal Doulton to mark the 50th anniversary of the evacuation of Dunkirk in 1940. It is part of a limited edition of 14,750 and this particular example is number 2105.
It is of fine bone china construction and cylindrical. It has images of the evacuation and battle of Dunkirk around the sides from an original painting by the lead marine artist Geoff Hunt. It has a navy blue accent trim above and below the artwork edged with a gold coloured line. Inside the upper navy line is the title of the piece in white writing 'The Evacuation of Dunkirk 1940'.
It is larger than average with the following dimensions:
5" height
4.25" base circumference
3.75" top circumference
It comes with a certificate of authenticity and has the Royal Doulton stamp to the base.
It would make a welcome addition to any collection of either Royal Doulton china or world war memorabilia. It would make an ideal gift for upcoming Valentine's Day, Easter or a birthday or anniversary.
Another example of the same limited edition can be seen for sale on a comparable well known site for £20 plus postage and seemingly has noticeable scratches so grab a bargain.
It is in perfect pre-owned condition. From a smoke free house. Buyer must collect from Chepstow, Monmouthshire or Brixham or Totnes, Devon at an agreed tim. Alternatively, I am happy to package and post for the associated costs.
If you are interested in any of the other items I have advertised I will happily discuss a reduced combined price.
