A Defence & Missile client, a trusted partner of the UK Ministry of Defence, are currently seeking an experienced Test Architect to join their team in Stevenage. The selected Candidate will be responsible for defining and managing the requirements for Test Equipment and Test Specifications. This crucial role requires someone with a robust skill set and attention to detail.

As an RF Digital Waveform Design Engineer, it's crucial to possess confidence and diligence to deliver products within the given deadlines. Moreover, one should have expertise in mixed-signal electronic design, a keen interest in radar systems, and a thorough comprehension of programmable devices (FPGAs/CPLDs).

What we're looking for:

Analogue & High-speed Digital Circuit DesignDesign, Simulation & Layout using ZukenFPGA/CPLD Circuit Design and Simulation using Xilinx ISE, Vivado, Libero, and othersPerform design-proving tests and trials in the laboratory.Diagnose hardware problems using various methods, e.g., visual inspection, signal/data analysis in designKnowledge of mixed-signal board techniques and awareness of manufacturing techniques and capabilitiesAppreciation of mechanical design & module packagingSolid understanding of various tools, processes, and procedures. Familiarity with design software such as Zuken, Orcad, and LTSpice is also crucial.Possess the capability of producing top-notch testing requirements and reports, devising a comprehensive action plan, and consistently delivering the expected results within the mutually agreed timeframe.Degree qualified or equivalent with modules relating to RF or electronicsEstablishing strong working relationships with team members, external departments, suppliers, and customers is paramount.Experience with product lifecycles, from concept to production, is valuable.Essential to be able to produce high-quality written reportsDesirable to have radar experience with hardware implementation

What you'll get to do as a RF Digital Waveform Design Engineer:

The role involves designing and developing analogue and high-speed digital circuits with multiple modes of operation. You will conduct development tests and integration activities on circuits and sub-assemblies while adhering to relevant standards. You will manage documentation related to testing for seeker hardware, interact with internal customers and suppliers to ensure the final design meets all requirements. Additionally, you will oversee the transition of development hardware into series production, conduct technical investigations, and improve designs.
