12-Month Contract position

Based in Stevenage

Offering circa 50ph Inside IR35 with room to negotiate

Active SC clearance required

Due to the nature of the work you will be involved in, an active SC clearance will be required.

You will be an RF Design Engineer working alongside a market-leading Defence and Aerospace company who are constantly growing and developing. They are always looking to bring on new talents such as yourself and further develop your skills to enable you to grow within the company and industry.

You will be part of a fast-paced programme within a dynamic team to develop high-speed circuits. This requires you to have broad skills in mixed-signal electronic design with an appreciation of radar systems and also a good understanding of programmable devices (FPGAs/CPLDs).

Your responsibilities will include:

Rapid design and development of analogue & high-speed digital circuits Perform development tests and integration activities on circuits and sub-assemblies in accordance with all relevant processes, standards and requirementsProduce and maintain test documentation associated with seeker hardware, including specifications, development test schedules and test result sheets.Interact with internal customers and suppliers to understand circuit design requirements, volume constraints and environmental specifications so that the final design is compliant with the overall requirementsOversee the transition of development hardware into series production, including robustness testing and qualification testingPerform technical investigations to provide data for problem assessment, design improvements and support the development of solutions to technical issuesProvide technical advice and assistance to the engineering managerSkillset/experience required:

Analogue & High-speed Digital Circuit DesignDesign, Simulation & Layout using ZukenFPGA/CPLD Circuit Design and Simulation using Xilinx ISE, Vivado, Libero, and othersPerform design proving tests and trials in the laboratoryDiagnose hardware problems using various methods; e.g. visual inspection, signal/data analysis in designKnowledge of mixed-signal board techniquesAwareness of manufacturing techniques and capabilitiesAppreciation of mechanical design & module packagingA clear understanding of engineering tools, processes and proceduresBe conversant with design tools including Zuken, Orcad, LTSpice, and othersBe able to write high-quality test requirements and test reportsGenerate a plan of activitiesConsistent ability to deliver the required output within agreed timescalesIdeally degree qualified or equivalent with modules relating to RF or electronicsEssential to be able to build good working relationships with team members and external departments, suppliers and customersEssential to have some experience with product lifecycles from concept through to production.Essential to be able to produce high-quality written reportsDesirable to have radar experience with hardware implementation
