We are a Psyche / Vaudeville / Avant Garde-ish pop originals project. We're doing paid headline gigs in London at the moment, run a monthly residency night with other bands, have played a few festivals and are plotting our first studio session for next month.
Looking for a saxophone player to join the lineup.
Music we like and (ish) sound like (sometimes): The Sonics, Charles Mingus, Bonzo Dog Band, Tom Waits, Neutral Milk Hotel, Bowie, Syd Barrett etc.
You don't need to be a virtuoso - there's a theatrical bent to the sound and show so - more important than technical - is that you are comfortable in your own skin and perform in the spirit of the thing. It would be great if improvising discordant noise jams didn't freak you out.
(Big whopping bonus if you were also comfortable backing up on junkyard percussion, BVs, keys and whatever else in a rudimentary capacity)
Drop a message if you're interested and we'll ping you some demos / live recordings.
