As a Registered Veterinary Nurse at Highland Vet Referrals, you will be integral to our mission, dedicated to delivering top-tier care to our patients. Your role will involve close collaboration with a small, tight-knit team to bolster our services, encompassing orthopaedic and soft tissue surgery, pain management, and dermatology. Your responsibilities will span a broad spectrum, encompassing tasks such as scrubbing in to assist in surgery, conducting nurse consultations (including post-operative checks, laser therapy appointments, admits, and discharges), administering anaesthesia, including the use of a ventilator, performing diagnostic imaging, managing stock orders, and ensuring a clinically clean environment, all while maintaining the highest standards of care. Flexibility is a core requirement, as we foster a culture of versatility, where our entire team is encouraged to lend their expertise across various disciplines and respond to emergencies where necessary. About Us:

Highland Vet Referrals transitioned from "Crown Vet Referrals" in 2022. We were established in 2014 to provide advanced-level veterinary services to the North of Scotland and the Western Isles. We specialise in orthopaedics, soft tissue surgery, dermatology, and pain management, housing world-class facilities on our premises including an Examion Digital X-ray machine and a Siemens CT machine. We also host monthly visits from a dermatologist and pain management specialist.

The Highlands are certainly the place to be for those with a passion for the outdoors - the scenery is second-to-none and there are endless opportunities for walking, wild swimming, camping, and paddle boarding! There are lots to do for families and children of all ages in Inverness.

Applicant Requirements:

We invite applications from Registered Veterinary Nurses (RVNs) with varying levels of experience and diverse nursing backgrounds. Our selection process is centred on attitude and aptitude, and we offer comprehensive training and support for all new team members. Above all, we seek nurses who share our vision and values, While some orthopaedic knowledge and surgical assistance experience are essential, prior referral experience is advantageous.

Working Pattern:

This is a full-time position of 40 hours per week on a rolling 3-week rota, with no weekends or OOHs as standard. While we have a dedicated out-of-hours team, you may be asked occasionally to assist with holiday or sickness cover if needed.
